Far Away by Howard Bosler

Across the road, across the field,

Across the town and winding river revealed,

And far away from sight and sound,

Truth never seen or reason found

Leaves a chasm beyond the void

To quash the heart without loneliness destroyed.

Stillness and solitude once admired

Turns an older age to days undesired.

Yet across the shadows of the past

Days come and go until the last.

No one sees because they do not awaken

Or hear a voice on the last breath taken.

Not lost or truly found,

Untouched or affection bound,

Time remains to tempt the skeptic

With dreams unreal and fantastic.

Look up to the stars far away

And hope to finally live a day.
